What is a Local Place Plan?

The Planning (Scotland) Act 2019 introduced Local Place Plans, which are community-led documents that enable community bodies to set out proposals for the development and use of land within their area.

Brookfield Community Council, in consultation with Brookfield Village Council, has prepared a Local Place Plan for Brookfield.

The view of Brookfield Community Council for the next 20 years is that there should be no further housing development within Brookfield. However, we want to hear your views.

Brookfield Community Council will also be holding an open drop-in session from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Sunday 6 September 2026 in the Village Hall, where residents are encouraged to come along and share their views, ideas, and suggestions.
