The Main Hall
SWI
The Brookfield branch of the SWI (Scottish Women's Institutes), began in Brookfield seventy years ago. At that time, it was known as the SWRI – Scottish Women’s Rural Institutes (referred to as ‘The Rural’). It is a membership organisation for women, promoting friendship, combating isolation and encouraging mental stimulation and fun. Brookfield SWI meets in the Village Hall on alternate Tuesdays from October to March from 10.00am - 12.00pm. The meetings start with tea, coffee, home baking and chat, followed by a speaker. New members are most welcome. SWI membership gives access to a wide range of other opportunities and online classes which are free to members.
