Book club
Brookfield Book Club meets monthly from September to June. We hold our meetings in the Village Hall Library at 8 pm on a Monday evening. There are currently about 12 members with 10 attending on a regular basis. Each month we choose a book to read and our discussions are usually informal and lively. We have tea or coffee and a biscuit which are provided by a member. Each meeting a member is asked to pay £1 to assist with cost of heating and lighting of the library. SWI
The Brookfield Scottish Women’s Institute (SWI) meets fortnightly on a Tuesday morning at 10.00 am in the Village Hall from September to March. We start with lots of informal chat with tea, coffee and home baking. At around 10.40 the meeting starts with a review of the minutes and other rural events and news followed by a speaker to inform and entertain. We try to provide a variety of speakers on a wide range of subjects. We also have the occasional sales table with home made produce or perhaps a raffle.
